MERLO
Two Names. One dream. One Legacy.
Established 22 April 2016
Some business names are simply chosen. Other carry a story worth telling.
Merlo hardware and Electrical was born from a dream. Like many Vaalies, Louw & Mercia Brits had a vision of leaving the hustle and bustle of the Highveld behind and making a new home along the beautiful South Coast.
A hardworking man with an extraordinary talent for working with his hands, Louw had a wealth of knowledge about building, designing, electrical work and just about anything that involved making or fixing something.
When an opportunity arose for Louw and Mercia to purchase a struggling business, they took a leap of faith. They invested everything, even their hearts into building something of their own.
It wasnt an easy journey. There many late nights, laughter, blood, sweat and tears. But there was also something special happening along the way. Merlo wasnt just becoming a hardware store. It was becoming a part of the community.
Customers became friends. A quick visit to buy something often turned into a cup of coffee and a good chat. Service with a smile, genuine relationships and a willingness to help, became part of what made Merlo special.
Today, Merlo hardware and electrical continues to serve the people of Sea Park and surrounding areas. We are incredibly grateful for the customers and friends who have supported Merlo throughout the years.
From our family to yours, thank you for being part of our story.
